Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor; If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.

People who participate in AA meetings are typically more successful in their sobriety than those who don’t. Many studies show that there are two reasons why AA meetings are so successful. The first reason is that AA meetings give people the opportunity to spend time with other people who, like them, are in a journey towards sobriety. The meetings allows people to spend time with people who support their efforts toward sobriety. It is true that you become very much like those you hang around with.
The second reason why AA meetings are so successful is because they provide an opportunity for accountability. Accountability helps you make wise and responsible decisions. After all, you will have to give accounts or explain your actions to someone else. There’s often been times in my life where I realize there are areas in my life that I need to change. I have the good intentions and maybe the right idea about how to change, yet because there’s no one to hold me accountable, I fall off the wagon. I’m not talking about things like drugs or alcoholism. I’m talking about simple things like attitudes, bitterness, behaviors, and other things that I know in my heart I need to deal with.
When I wrote my book Through God’s Eyes, I wanted to give the reader the opportunity to reflect after reading each chapter. If you have read the book, you’ll notice that there are questions at the end of each chapter. I have heard from many of you that you have partnered with a friend or group and are doing the questions together! You have let me know that doing the reading and questions with someone else has, in a good way, forced you to answer the questions. In turn, this has led you to have awesome discussions about the book and specific areas in your life where God is working.
Accountability works!
I would love to hear your thoughts on the book. Have you gone through the questions? Can you find a friend who would be willing to join you in reading the book? God is doing wonderful things. Thank you for sharing your stories with me.
