When Flowers Bloom
It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.

When I admire a flower, I don’t ever think about the process it took to become that beautiful flower. Instead, I admire its beauty, enjoy its fragrance, and delight in its uniqueness. But, flowers don’t magically appear from one day to another.
The plant cycle starts when a seed falls or is planted in the ground. The major stages of the flower cycle are the seed, germination, growth, reproduction, pollination, and seed spreading stages. When a seed falls on the ground, it needs warmth and water in order to germinate; some seeds also need light. It is important that the seed is planted in the right place at the right time in order for it to germinate.
We, like flowers, also go through different stages in our life. See, we just don’t magically become that person God created us to be. Yet, so often we get discouraged when we look around us and see beautiful flowers and yet it feels as if our seed hasn’t even taken root. I think it’s important to realize and be aware at what part of our process we are. For a flower to bloom to its full potential, it is important to consider the time of planting, how much sun and water it needs. It is important to take care of providing the right care for it. We can’t compare a bud to a completely mature flower.
The people around you may be in different stages of their life cycle. Maybe they’ve already been through the seed, germination, and pruning stages. Now all you see if a beautiful mature flower. What about you? By identifying where in the process you are, you can see what you need to do to blossom into your full potential. Maybe you’re not fully there yet. That’s okay—it’s part of the process. Some processes are easier than others. We have to go through pain sometimes in order to birth something beautiful.
I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it; but it was God who made it grow. It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.
